Steering Committee’s First Meeting

To help guide the Action Plan project team throughout the effort, we have created a Steering Committee, a diverse group of more than 50 District leaders across a range of important categories, including:

  • local government

  • business and employment

  • real estate and development

  • architecture and planning

  • arts and culture

  • dining and retail

  • higher education

  • nonprofits and advocacy groups

On June 20, this august group gathered for the first time to meet each other, discuss the Action Plan, and begin the conversation about possible futures for downtown D.C. We anticipate that the collective experience and knowledge of the Steering Committee will be a vital part of shaping the Action Plan. Over the next several months we will be in regular communication with them, both virtually and in person, to glean their insights.
